Name the top three newscasters you trust the most to give you the straight facts. Is Jon Stewart on your list? He's on mine. That certainly says something about the times we live in, doesn't it? Frank Rich has
an article in today's NY Times about how deeply involved the government is in the Fake News Industry (and that's not even including Faux/Fox News Channel). It's not too long, definitely read it. Since I follow the President pretty closely, I tend to lose focus of the big picture on how Americans are "handled" by the government, this is a good reminder.
He’s definitely a source of inspiration. I usually have already read the news that the Daily Show has covered. But that show is a good source of commentary.
Does it make you want a smaller, less intrusive government, Bil? Can I pencil you in for the next Libertarian meetup? ; )
I’ve always said that if I had to be stuck on a desert island with a conservative, I hope he’s be a libertarian. That said, I like the government. Just because people abuse it doesn’t mean, to me, that it should be scaled back. We just need people who will serve us well, which we can supposedly make happen on election day. Supposedly. And no matter who’s in charge, good guys or not, there’s no way the executive branch should be in the news reporting/production business.
I always said if I had to be stuck on a desert island with a liberal, I hope it’s a Victoria’s Secret model.
I’ve always said that I’d like to stick all the neocons together on a desert island.
