Since we're voting today I thought it would be a good time to mention that The Presidents of the United States of America have
a new album out and it's got my vote.
I heard the single "Some Postman" on the radio a few weeks ago, and now that song makes me want to jump around the house every time I hear it (Em has witnessed this, actually). The whole album has a really fun, pop-rock vibe, channeling at times OK Go, the Aquabats, and They Might Be Giants. And it's quirky in a delightful way, moreso than their bizarre (but excellent) self titled album from 1996 ("millions of peaches, peaches for free...").
Check it out, it'll get you back in ass kicking mood after chilling out with the
Garden State soundtrack.

I picked this up off of iTunes before traveling a few weeks ago. I can confirm that its a good one. Did you know that they put out another album about 2 years ago that completely fell under the radar? It’s called freaked out and small. Some good tracks but not nearly as solid as the new disc.
On the topic of music I highly suggest that everyone check out Rubber Factory by the Black Keys for some soulful blues rock, …Is a Boy by Say Anything for some angry sarcastic emo-rock, and Crimes by The Blood Brothers (when it comes out on Oct 12th) for the type of brutal insanity that our kids will enjoy in 2015.
