Request for Comments
I just spent the past couple hours (ok, all day) working on the design of my Urban planning blog, the RI+URBlog. I've been wanting to do this for a while, especially since not everyone who reads A Cry for Help is as into that kind of stuff as I am. I also wanted to make a "specialty" blog, without interspersing transit and architecture posts with Red Sox worship and "Bush is destroying the planet"-type stuff.
So now that it's pretty much as far as I am going to take it, can you guys head over and tell me if there's anything you'd add (links, features, etc.) or any design/usage/readability changes you'd make? I'm not promising I'll do what you want, but I am very flexible, and I appreciate getting a new set of eyes looking at it. Thanks!

I don’t have any useful criticisms at the moment, but I really like the colors. Very clean and inviting.

So far so good, it looks really nice. I suggested some Local Links for you to add over there.
Is there a way for you to attached the GTECH comments from here, over to there?
Is there a way to allow people to submit topics (other than emailing you I suppose). I.E. if someone finds an interesting topic, can they submit it to you for posting?
I will be adding it to my list of places to visit online. You’re further preventing me from going outside and getting a real life you know!? Well, I did make it to WaterFire tonight, so I guess it’s not that bad.

Thanks guys! Anyone else have thoughts?
Cotuit, what did you have in mind for submissions? I could whip up a form that would be like creating an entry (title, body, extended, and so forth) which could be submitted for approval. Or did you mean just an email form? There’s always the comments section, too.
I’ll find a way to get those GTECH comments over, definitely.

Site looks nice, especially the colors and the simple layout. I agree a that a topic suggestion area would be good. I also have a number of additional links I’ll e-mail you with (you may wish to have neighborhood association links as their own link area).
Is there any way to have a database of projects ongoing in Providence? The readers such as myself could add ones as we’re aware of them (even such things as new businesses moving into spots, etc). You as site coordinator could oversee the entries and add them as you deem fit. It could be organized by neighborhood.

I like it. And as soon as I think of an intelligent contribution, I’ll contribute!

Hmm, dunno really. Just a way to give you a heads up if you’re out having a life or something and miss a development. Keep Garris and I from hijacking other posts.
