I’m out here looking desperately for info as to why WEEI seems to have yanked Joe and Jerry off the air for the Series … I live in New Haven, CT where normally we can get both AM 1220 WQUN and AM 1080 WTIC. Right now, though, QUN is playing its usual non-game-time oldies shlock and TIC has the ESPN feed. Is WEEI really not going to carry its own broadcasts for the Series? Is there some MLB-ESPN contract whereby local radio stations have to yield to ESPN for the Series? I’m going insane. I can’t believe how frustrating it is to have a couple of “neutrals” (Cardinal fans) calling this, the first World Series of my adulthood (I was 7 in ‘86) instead of my beloved Joe and Jerry, with whom I have made the pilgrimage through the last 4 Sox seasons, including the pain of last October and the high of Sunday-Wednesday. I want the replays! I want the stupid backchat and the overt Sox rooting and the laughing at each other like the Car Talk guys and the season-long knowledge of the players and the corny home run calls! Are we ever going to get them back?? Or should I just go to my local bar so I can at least get the visuals? (I only get one TV channel, ABC, and normally I’m perfectly happy just listening to the radio, but this just isn’t the same.)
P.S. Nice to meet you, as I am also both a rabid Sox rooter and a rabid progressive Democrat (Air America WLIB 1190 New York). Check out my sister’s blog at halfthecabinetarenotasses.blogspot.com. Go Sox!

I hear that A-Rod loves Emeril’s nuts.
But I suspect it’s just a rumor.
