Dennis & Callahan & Rush & Franken
I like to listen to Dennis and Callahan on WEEI Sports radio in the morning. It's an amusing sports show, and they would sprinkle in little things about the election and the news. One guyis a big Bush fan (which isn't surprising for a high-earning white guy) and one is not too big on the President (not surprising for a New Englander). For the most part they get their jabs in and move on to what an idiot Terry Francona is or how good the Pats are.
This morning, though, I turn on their show and it was like I got a more polite version of radio Crossfire. One guy's decided that maybe he's been giving too much credit to the administration and thinks we need to get out of Iraq. And now, like most arguments made by people who don't really delve deeply into history and present day issues, the show has turned into "why don't you support the troops" and "hey, Germany declared war on us!" (along with callers weighing in on how Libya gave up their WMD for fear of America's giant penis).
So even sports talk radio is getting a nice injection of bile. Where'd my iPod get to…

Really? Fatty and the forehead are now divided on the administration? WEEI used to be a huge haven for conservatives. I used to listen on my way to work before moving to Cali. So, let me guess. Dennis is now not strong on the administration?

I try to avoid EEI in the morning (although I do surf there occasionally). Now that I get air america (love morning sedition) I have even less reason to listen to those clowns. My drive happens to coincide with the time they spend reading the “news” and since Jerry Callahan is one step away from a fascist I can’t stand listening during that time. I do enjoy the big show in the afternoon (except during football season) since they l;argely stick to sports.

I’m sick of the D&C show… I put on SPORTS radio to listen to SPORTS, not to hear two half-witted jock-wannabes discuss politics, which they often sound glaringly uninformed about, often jump to discustingly off-the-mark conclusions on and just use as an excuse to argue, which seems to be EEI’s format anyway.
The Big Show does it too, but that’s a much better show.
790 (or 99.7) The Score is a better channel and who doesn’t like The Coach & Scott Zolak… who actually (sharp intake of breath inserted for dramatic purpose!)… talk about SPORTS!

Well, WTIC is a news-talk station, but I agree that sports shows should be about sports. However, last time I listened to ‘TIC (which was a while ago, now that we have our very own WEEI affiliate here in New Haven), they had Rush Limbaugh from 12-3 but then they actually had a Democrat with a talk (not sports) show during drivetime (3-6). I think the guy’s name is/was Bruce. I have to give them props, given that basically nobody did lefty talk radio before Air America, except Jim Hightower’s very short lived show and Randi Rhodes in FLorida.

Sorry, moronic post - I got confused between WEEI and its semi-affiliate in Hartford. I think it’s time to go to bed.

Its kind of sad but Fatty and the Forehead have pushed me back to IMUS which has become IMUS “light”.
