With this beautiful holiday weekend upon us, I'm very excited to have a friend from college visiting RI for the first time. That of course means that I won't be in front of the computer at all, but to keep the non-updating to a minimum, here's a picture of my guest enjoying her first Del's lemonade by the Providence Waterfront.
Today we're taking the ferry down to Newport before coming back in time for the capital city's fireworks. Should be an awesome day. I hope everyone else is enjoying their Independence Day weekend, talk to you on Tuesday!
i also had a few first time Rhode Islanders in town, and also made them drink some del’s. I also tried to get them some hot wieners, but they were all closed. oh well…next time.
This is making me homesick. I lived in Rhode Island for two years. I worked in both Providence and Warwick and lived in East Greenwich that second year. I got down to Newport a lot. This was when the naval base was still there, the America’s Cups, and no big mall on the waterfront. I visited there afterwards. Yes, it was pretty, but the old Newport was more of an authentic seagoing town and I loved it.
A blogger with a life…how extraordinary!
Thanks for the pic, quite a lovely young lady but you might want to work on your backgrounds a tad as I didn’t find the crane and the smokestacks adding much to it. May I suggest for next time that perhaps a shot in front of a marina in Newport or one on the ferry, perhaps.
